...the semantically enriched repository of online labs.
Lab2go is a Web portal that aims at bringing online lab developers, researchers, professors and students a bit closer together
by offereing a common Web environment where people can share expertise and experience in the field.
Online lab developers can describe their labs by using our own model and can furthermore search for specific laboratory more precisely.
What makes Lab2go different from other existing Web applications is that it makes use of Semantic Web technologies to describe and
search for data. Adding semantics to the data allows for the description of relatioship between resources in a machine processable way.
It allows therefore for an easier and more precise search for a desired online laboratory, experiment and other resources described by the model.
Lab2go supports the
Global Online Laboratory Consortium (GOLC).
GOLC is focused on promoting the development and sharing of, and research into remotely accessible laboratories for educational use. As the usage of online experiments gains traction in the educational community, there is increasing interest in developing online labs on a common infrastructure. A unified and interoperable architecture is essential to convert the current tremendous interest for online experiments into an economy of labs that can be efficiently shared around the world.
